PRIVACY POLICY

Hi,
Welcome to my website.

Protecting your privacy is incredibly important to me. This Privacy Policy is here to help you understand how I treat any Personal Information that you share with me when you use my website.

I have written this Privacy Policy to make it clear, simple and easy to read, at least that’s what I’m aiming for!

In a nutshell

  • I won’t sell your data.

  • I will only mail you if you say I can.

  • I will not pass your data on to anyone who shouldn’t have it.

If you want me to remove your data, just email me at motherposter@motherposter.com

I may have to keep your data for legal purposes. For example: if I complete a project for you, I will have your personal data for invoicing purposes.

Ways in which I use & store your Personal Information

If I say ‘personal data’, it’s information where I can identify you. I may process the following type of personal data about you.

Communication data

If you send me an email, social media message, post or information through the contact form on the website (or any other information on any channel), I will process this data for the purposes of:

  • communicating with you

  • recording keeping (example: if we work for you and invoice you)

  • the establishment, pursuance or defence of legal claims (hopeful this will never happen though)

Customer data

If you use my services and give me your: name, title, billing address, delivery address email address, phone number, contact details, purchase details and your card details, I’ll use that data to fulfil the service and keep records. For example, I need to keep all invoices for HMRC. Your data would be on that invoice and I have to keep it.

User data

I track how you use this site and my online services like the comments section on the blog. If you post a comment and I think it will work for marketing purposes, I’ll keep your words in other ways (e.g. on a Google spreadsheet) and may use it elsewhere like social media.

Sensitive data

I do not collect any sensitive data about you. Sensitive data is data that includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data. I do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

I will only use your personal data for a purpose it was collected or for a reasonably compatible purpose if necessary. For more information on this please email me at motherposter@motherposter.com. In case I need to use your details for an unrelated new purpose I will let you know and explain the legal grounds for it.

I may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent where this is required or permitted by law.

Disclosures of your personal data

I may have to share your personal data with other companies if we are working with them. For example, if I purchase tech or services on behalf of your business.

If this happens, anyone I work with will have to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. I will only use your data, and allow them to use your data, for specific reasons.

Data security

Any data you share with me will only be looked at by myself in the first instance. I will, of course, do my utmost to make sure it’s not accidentally lost, used, altered or shared without your authorisation.

In the extremely unlikely event any of that happens I will inform you and investigate the problem and/or take legal action if necessary.

Data retention

I will only keep your data for as long as necessary. For example, I have to keep accounts for 6 years. So that means for 6 years, your address will be on any invoice I send you.

Access to your Personal Information

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to request and be sent:

  • confirmation of the Personal Information we hold about you

  • other supplementary information that we hold about you

You can make a request by contacting me on motherposter@motherposter.com

I will take steps to confirm your identity before releasing any information to you. I will not charge you for providing the information that you request. I will respond to your request within 30 days of the request unless there are exceptional circumstances.
